| A little about the Middleport
Free Library |
The Village of Middleport has
enjoyed library services of one kind of another since the early
1800's; from floating canal-boat libraries to a sizable collection
housed in a local church. But the Middleport Free Library was
not officially chartered until 1929.
The library has been at its current location at 9 South Vernon
Street since 1945, and that same year was dedicated as a living
memorial to those who served in WWII.
Since then, the library has built an addition and renovated to
better accommodate the community, and the Royalton-Hartland School
District. |

- Interlibrary loan service - borrow material from libraries
throughout the NIOGA system (all public libraries in Niagara,
Orleans and Genesee Counties)
- Computer terminals for word processing and other projects
- Free Internet access
- Children 13 - 17 need parental permission
- Children under 13 need to be accompanied by a parent
- Weekly Storyhour for preschoolers
- Children's Summer Reading Program
- Mother and Daughter Book Discussion Group (for girls 4-6 grades)
- Community Display Case - do you have a collection (historical
items, collectibles, art...) that you'd like to share with our
patrons?
- Community Meeting Room - available upon request
- Special Children's Programs and Activities throughout the
year
